| Art movies have universal theme
Many directors have forgotten that Italian cinema has a history. And I sense a lack of content now. Also TV has become powerful. Personally, I feel closer to the cinema of the 60s. Indian cinema as seen in Europe... Indian cinema means Bollywood in Europe. But there is so much more to Indian culture and cinema. And this is what is seen in non-commercial cinema. While Bollywood is a phenomena in India, it is the art movies that have universal theme. But it is a pity that there are not many places to show this kind of cinema in Italy. In France, however, there are such places. Many films from America are screened in Italy, but I would call them entertainment rather than movies. Youth and cinema... A moment for cinema is a must in education, if the youth need to understand and appreciate the medium.
Work underway on formation of drug court for Anderson, Oconee counties
The 10th Judicial Circuit recently announced that efforts are underway toward the formation of a Drug Court for Anderson and Oconee counties. Once the court is operating, qualifying drug-related criminal cases will be handled there, officials said. “Drug Court is an opportunity for persons whose drug addiction has led to criminal behavior to change their lives and become productive members of the community," according the 10th Circuit Web site. 10th Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams said, “We are very excited about this addition to our judicial process in the 10th Circuit. The importance of a drug court is that it may keep an individual from going to jail for a drug-related crime, if there is any chance that they can become a productive citizen. This is especially important for juvenile offenders, who may now be offered an alternative to jail." There are two planned components of the new 10th circuit program, juvenile and adult.

Tahoe Launches Adult Felony Drug Court
A new program is being launched in South Lake Tahoe to help some of the highest risk individuals take steps to straighten out their lives. Adult Felony Drug Court is targeted for people, especially pregnant women and parenting adults, who are struggling with substance abuse and who have committed non-violent felony crimes. The program is a collaborative effort between numerous agencies in El Dorado County, including the Public Health Department, Superior Court, District Attorney's Office, Public Defender, Sierra Recovery Center, and the Probation Department, and is funded by a grant from the State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs. Participants of the Adult Felony Drug Court receive outpatient and residential substance abuse treatment if indicated and submit to frequent drug testing.
